Brigadier General Thomas W. Kula

Effective May 1, 2014 General Thomas W. Kula will take over as long-time Executive Director Jim Parks retires. Kula will bring his impressive resume to one of the largest Water Treatment facilities in the country.

NTMWD is in the midst of major construction projects right now and Kula's experience will prove invaluable in seeing these projects through to completion. Some of the new projects include the 306 million dollar pipeline to bring water from Lake Texoma directly into the treatment facility.

Parks will retire after 35 years of service to NTMWD  on April 30, 2014 and has served as Executive Director for the last 16 years.

Kula will surely be an asset to North Texas Municipal Water District for years to come.

Please stop all outdoor landscape watering immediately. To halt all outdoor watering of grass will be politically incorrect but we are in dire straights. Allow watering of foundations and trees with drip irrigation but we must halt all watering of grass. For the first time in my life I am actually afraid of what is to come this Summer. Despite the newly constructed pipeline from Texoma, it will not save us. Do we want water to drink, or do we want green lawns?

Actually, there is something I can add. There is a real possibility of us going to stage 4 watering restrictions this summer. If that happens, all outdoor watering will be prohibited. Soaker hoses will be allowed.
